The Peace of Christ

May your eyes be open night and day toward this house, the place of which you said, ‘My Name shall be there.'

We seek God in magnificent cathedrals and opulent sanctuaries, but he comes to us where we are—in rooms where we have locked ourselves away, in the places where we hide from others, from God, from ourselves. In Christ, God's peace comes to the unenlightened and the undeserving. No matter who we are or where we are on life's journey—no matter who we think we are or how well we are hiding, God loves us and offers us a peace that surpasses our understanding.
