I'm not watching any television news these days. I get my news by reading it on tried-and-true internet sites, such as BBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. But every morning when I open my web browser to see what's happened over night, I am afraid of what I'm about to see. The news from Ukraine is so tragic, the atrocities so horrible, that my psyche has trouble dealing with it.One of my principle problems is not only that these things have happened, but that my response is hatred and a desire for retribution. At this stage of my walk with Christ, I ask, should I not be above such evil thoughts? And yet, I know first of all that I am not alone. But also, I know that it is from the power of this very evil that God has delivered me. Though the world I live in is still imperfect, I know that the Realm that is alive in the mind of Christ is my true homeland. There will come a time that this Realm is proclaimed to the ends of the earth. For now, I know that true wholeness will be found if I live my life as if it were already a universal reality.
