To obsess about death is to refrain from life. Life is lived today. It cannot be lived in the past, nor can it be put off until the future. That's why Jesus asked us to trust God for the present moment. Worrying doesn't add a single second to our lifespan, and detracts from our quality of life.✙
Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life?

God our Creator, your kindness has brought us the gift of a new morning. Help us not to cling to yesterday, nor covet tomorrow, but to accept the uniqueness of today. By your love, celebrated in your Word, seen in your Son, brought near by your Spirit, take from us all we need no longer carry, that we may be free again to choose to serve you and be served by each other.
