When God calls us, a claim is put on our life. To respond to God's call is to say that I belong to God and that I depend on God to direct my ways.✙
But this relationship is not at all one-sided. As great as God is, God has also promised to respond to our call. This promise we find in both the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament.
When we respond to God's call, we do not necessarily know where we're going to end up. That's because we cannot see into the future and we will not know until all is said and done what course of action was the best. And so it is when we do the calling. God loves us and always knows what's best in the end. What God gives is what's best... but so is what God withholds.
