Apparently I'm more than a little bit OCD. One of the principle way this manifests itself is through earworms. I almost always have them, and more often than not, I sing them... at least that's what I do when I'm alone. It's not unusual for one of these songs to be a hymn or a psalm. And singing God's glory is never a bad thing.
How much better, though, to sing hymns with others in worship. Singing alone is nice. Singing with others—especially singing God's praise with others—is transformative. How marvelous, then, that God's twofold gift of music and community changes believers' lives for the better!

Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts.
